Proper care extends the life of your high-visibility clothing and maintains its protective effect.
When washing, follow the instructions on the sewn-in care label and observe the following guidelines:
Care & Washing:
- Use detergents without optical brighteners, bleach or strong stain removers.
- Do not soak, do not subject to rough mechanical treatment (no vigorous brushing or scrubbing).
- Wash garments with fastenings closed and with similar colours.
Drying & Storage:
- Dry in the shade or away from direct light; do not dry in direct sunlight or under intense heat.
- Store in a dry, well-ventilated place away from sunlight to prevent fading and colour changes.
Wash cycles & service life:
- STRAUSS tests high-visibility clothing over 25 wash cycles (with the exception of e.s. multinorm high-vis: 5 wash cycles).
- The actual service life also depends on use, care, storage, soiling and damage.
Visual and functional inspection:
- After each wash and dry cycle, check for any remaining soiling or whether reflective strips are coming loose or deteriorating.
In such cases, the protective effect is no longer fully guaranteed. We recommend replacing the garment. High-visibility clothing may only be repaired by specialist companies to ensure that certification is maintained.
