STRAUSS cut-resistant trousers are tested in accordance with EN 381-5 and KWF. EN 381-5 sets out the requirements that cut-resistant clothing must meet when working with hand-held chainsaws. Protection class 1 specifies the level of cut protection: up to a chain speed of 20 m/s, the cut-resistant insert protects the legs from cuts.
Example: The protection area in accordance with EN 381, Part 5, Design A, Class 1, covers the entire front of the trouser legs and additionally extends 50 mm on the outer left leg (side seam) and on the inner right leg (crotch seam) (as viewed from the wearer).
